ChargePoint Wants To Fix The Condo EV Charging Problem With 2,500 New Ports

Living in an apartment complex can be tricky for EV drivers. Even though a whopping 80% of electric car charging sessions happen at home in the United States, apartment dwellers often need to rely on public infrastructure because there aren’t any Level 2 stalls where they live.

To try and fix this issue, ChargePoint has partnered with OBE Power to deploy approximately 2,500 charging ports at multifamily residences in the U.S. starting this year. OBE Power will own and operate the chargers. The company will also cover energy cost reimbursement, carbon credit revenue, ongoing maintenance, insurance, and repairs at no cost for the landlords.

Ionna Is Slashing EV Charging Prices In Half For Memorial Day Weekend

The company will charge just $0.20/kilowatt-hour from 12:01 Friday, May 22, to 11:59 pm Monday, May 25, at participating stations. That’s down 48% from the regular maximum of $0.39, and probably the lowest-priced DC fast chargers in the U.S.

Additionally, Ionna is offering discounts to BMW and General Motors EV drivers. Until September 30, BMW and Mini EV drivers get a 20% discount when charging using Plug & Charge or the My BMW app. Meanwhile, GM EV owners can enjoy a 10% discount when using Plug & Charge or the manufacturer’s smartphone apps to manage the charging session.

Tesla Model Y is Colombia’s Top-Selling Vehicle for Second Straight Month

According to new registration data from Colombia’s automotive industry groups ANDI and Fenalco, Tesla delivered 2,264 Model Y units in April, giving the vehicle an impressive 8.5% share of the entire automotive market. That follows another strong performance in March, when the Model Y led the country with 1,791 registrations.

Combined, Tesla has now sold more than 4,000 Model Y units in Colombia through the first four months of 2026, placing the SUV at the top of the year-to-date rankings.

Tesla’s success comes amid a massive acceleration in EV adoption across Colombia. The country recorded 5,192 battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations in April alone, representing a massive 304% increase compared to the same month last year.
