Tesla Releases AC Power Adapter for Model Y L in China

Tesla just launched an AC power adapter for the Model Y L in China that allows you to plug small household appliances directly into your car. The Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability works exactly as a mobile generator— perfect for emergencies, camping, or outdoor events. While this feature has been available in some EVs for a while, Tesla is finally catching up with the hardware.

The Model Y Performance in the U.S. will also support V2L, but the adapters are only available in China for now. This is a sneak peek of what is coming.

Used EVs Are Suddenly Hot Sellers at $20K-$30K Prices

The used EV market is heating up in a big way. Dealers are reporting that pre-owned electric vehicles priced between $20,000 and $30,000 are moving faster than ever, being the Tesla Model S, the fastest-selling used car in Q3 2025, selling within 21.5 days of hitting the lot. The sweet spot seems to be 2-3 year old models that have taken their initial depreciation hit but still offer modern features and a decent range. Could this be the tipping point where EVs become accessible to the mass market?

Google Maps Rolls Out Live Lane Guidance Exclusively for Polestar 4

Polestar 4 owners in the U.S. and Sweden just got a navigation upgrade that no other car has yet. Google Maps is now offering live lane guidance directly in the vehicle’s display, showing you exactly which lane to be in before complex highway interchanges. The EV’s front-facing camera can see the road, and Google Maps’ AI provides the driver with audio and visual cues for merging on time.

This new upgrade follows their driver centric UX strategy to reduce stress and improve safety. Will other automakers follow suit, or is this Polestar's exclusive advantage?

Tesla Shareholders Approve Elon Musk’s Historic Package

Musk’s $1 trillion compensation package was approved last Thursday at the company’s Annual Shareholder Meeting, with 75% of the investors’ support. The compensation is dependent on achieving 12 tranches related to business goals (vehicle deliveries, FSD subscriptions, Robotaxis in operation, the Optimus project rollout, and operating profit growth) and market valuation.

Musk will be rewarded with 1% of stock after meeting each tranche’s goals. If all 12 tranches are achieved, he would be eligible for 12% in stock, or about $1 trillion. Hitting all 12 milestones will also bring Tesla’s stock value from $1.1 trillion to $8.5 trillion.

One important caveat is that he only gets paid for the stock appreciation above Tesla’s market value at the time the board approved the package, which Tesla estimates as a net potential payout of $878 billion— but the number can change with the stock price.

Musk has said he’s more interested in the increased voting power this package grants him than the cash value, especially as Tesla prepares for what he calls a coming “robot army.”

See you next Tuesday! I super appreciate it!
