Autel Rolls Out App-Free Card Readers Across 100,000 EV Chargers

Autel Energy is partnering with the global fintech company Nayax to upgrade its Level 2 charging lineup with built-in credit card readers that accept contactless payments.

This will provide users with a more seamless experience at destination chargers, as they won't have to deal with apps, accounts, or registration anymore.

The company plans to integrate Nayax payment technology into approximately 100,000 chargers across North America and Europe by the end of 2026, starting with the new MaxiCharger AC Single configuration.

Tesla Launches Pre-Paid Supercharger Cards in China With Limited-Edition Perk

Tesla has introduced a new Supercharger Charging Card program in Mainland China with three tiers: Trial (¥79/50 kWh), Enjoyable (¥599/400 kWh), and Commemorative Edition (¥800/500 kWh).

The idea is to offer customers fixed kilowatt-hour (kWh) bundles instead of paying per session (and some limited-edition swag themed around Tesla’s V4 Supercharger launch in China).

NVIDIA Enters the Self-Driving Race With Alpamayo, Launching in Mercedes-Benz CLA

NVIDIA continues driving the AI revolution, but this time powering physical products. At the 2026 CES technology conference in Las Vegas, CEO Jensen Huang announced a new AI platform, designed specifically for self-driving vehicles: Alpamayo.

The Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model works by translating what it sees, reasoning, and acting in an integrated loop. Pretty much like Tesla’s model.

NVIDIA is positioning Alpamayo as both a deployable foundation and a developer platform. The company says developers can adapt the core model into smaller, vehicle-ready runtime systems or use it as the basis for advanced AV tooling.

Florida Tests Wireless EV Charging on Public Roads

Florida is piloting an innovative wireless charging highway system that could eliminate range anxiety altogether. The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX) will incorporate an ‘electrified roadway’ in its construction of the State Road 516 Lake/Orange Expressway in Lake and Orange counties.

The technology, already tested in controlled environments, uses electromagnetic fields to transfer energy from road-embedded coils to receivers mounted under vehicles. If successful, it could redefine long-distance EV travel and address one of the biggest barriers to adoption.
