BYD Launches Home Charger Sharing Platform

BYD has introduced an innovative home charger sharing system through their app. This feature enables EV owners to share their personal home chargers with other BYD drivers for payment.

Following Airbnb's playbook, BYD is enabling owners to monetize underused residential charging equipment while they are away. Plus, this innovation solves the lack of infrastructure for apartment dwellers.

The system includes integrated card readers, and the owners can set the availability and pricing.

Tesla Rolls Out Centralized Payment Kiosks at V4 Supercharger Sites

Tesla users have reported another change in the latest V4 Supercharger sites. The company seems to be replacing individual payment terminals built into each V4 charging stall for a centralized payment kiosk per Supercharger cluster.

This approach reduces hardware complexity, maintenance costs, and potential failure points while still meeting regulatory compliance requirements for card payment access.

Range Anxiety Drops By More Than Half After EV Ownership

Range anxiety continues to be one of the major barrier for EV adoption, even with constant improvements in the charging infrastructure, battery enhancements and efficiency of designs.

However, the good news is that this psychological barrier seems to significatly drop from 48% to 22% after owning an EV for the first time, and a study from Recurrent also shows that range anxiety decreases the longer you own and drive an EV.
