The 2025 Cybertruck built after April was awarded the safest truck by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The vehicle received good ratings in front (both small and moderate overlap) and side crash tests. Its front crash prevention also earned a good rating in pedestrian protection.

Ford Cancels F-150 Lightning EV As It Pivots to Hybrid Cars

Ford officially confirmed the end of production of the all-electric F-150 Lightning. The company announced a massive $19.5 billion charge as it pivots away from large battery-electric vehicles toward hybrids and extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) with gas generators.

Ford CEO Jim Farley explains that this decision is to respond to the market demands and preferences. The next-generation Lightning will be an EREV with over 700 miles of range using a gasoline range extender.
