Finding an EV Charger Just Got Easier: Tesla Introduces 3D Supercharger Station Maps

As part of the 2025 Holiday Software update, Tesla is introducing a new beta feature called Supercharger Site Maps, which are 3D live visualizations of Supercharger locations. This 3D map makes it easy to see which charging stalls are occupied, allowing the driver to quickly locate an empty spot.

Tesla's Holiday update is also bringing other features, including Tesla Photobooth for cabin camera selfies, Grok AI for voice navigation commands, enhanced Dashcam overlays, and more.

Tesla’s New ‘Charging Passport’ Gives Annual Recap of Your Supercharging Activity

Tesla is rolling out a new feature called Charging Passport to give owners a 2025 recap of charging activity and Supercharger locations visited. Think of this as a recap like the one you get from music streaming services, but for every supercharging activity. We think this is a neat new feature that gamifies charging and encourages users to travel and charge more.

Besides the annual recap, the feature also has other elements designed to turn data into something much more visual and rewarding:

Are EV Winter Tires Actually More Efficient? Testing the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 EVs

Winter tires are designed for increased winter safety and control, and they do this with large sipes in their tread patterns and a softer rubber compound that stays pliable when temperatures drop. These properties help the driver remain in control, but also further decrease efficiency. I’ve observed this firsthand when my driving energy consumption increases by at least 20% in the winter compared to the summer.

What about EV Optimized winter tires? If a tire claims to have reduced rolling resistance compared to conventional winter tires, how much does it actually matter? For the second half of the 2024/2025 winter season, I’ve run the premium Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 EVs to compare them with my previous budget tire of choice.

Here’s my whole experiment.
